Borrowing from the previous post we read:
“When this great destruction falls upon America, the wise among us shall know that the Lord’s Second Advent is nigh at hand, only months, not years away! However, the wisest of the wise will have seen it coming even years earlier. This is because they will have studied and discerned the meaning of what Daniel gives us in the phrase “a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”
In today’s blog we shall undertake the task of expounding upon and clarifying the significance of Daniel’s words “a time and times and the dividing of time” in the context of current events. It is of the utmost importance that this generation understand its significance in as much as it is a countdown to the final sequence!
In Daniel chapter 7 we learn of the fourth beast, the nations which were to descend from it and their fate. We turn to an inspired commentary covering the crux of this chapter by Orson Pratt:
“We read that the four beasts, representing the powers of the earth, will exist at the time of the coming of the Ancient of Days. And that the fourth beast, represented by the Roman Empire and the kingdoms that have grown out of it, will be “slain and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame.” Here then we can read the destiny of that portion of the inhabitants of the earth constituting the fourth beast: or, in other words, the destiny of the kingdoms of Europe, who were to arise and grow out of that fourth power”.
“Not only the kingdoms and governments of Europe, and the western portion of Asia are to be thus visited, but also those who have grown out of these kingdoms, and that have emigrated to this western hemisphere, and elsewhere. For instance, this great republic must pass away in the manner indicated unless the people repent”. (Journal of Discourses, vol. 18, p. 339)
In the above statement we get yet another view of Americas fate, it is to be “given to the burning flame” according to Daniel chapter 7 and Elder Pratt,s commentary of the same. The redundancy we find in scripture of this theme should leave no doubt in anyone’s mind as to what’s coming!
From Elder Pratt’s statement we learn that the forth beast is “represented by the Roman Empire and the kingdoms that have grown out of it” and that “the kingdoms of Europe… were to arise and grow out of that fourth power”. So when Daniel tells in verse 7 that the “fourth beast… had ten horns” he is speaking of “the kingdoms of Europe”.
Of particular interest is the “little horn” of whom Daniel says:
8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things…
11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame…
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom…
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
This “little horn” represents a “new nation”, one that springs form the original nations of Europe and one “before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots… and before whom three fell”. The “little horn” also “made war with the saints, and prevailed against them” according to Daniel.
So who is the “little horn”? It was America who sprang from the nations of Europe and gained its independence in spite of the intentions of the British, French and Spanish to colonize her, “he shall subdue three kings”. It was in America that the restoration of the gospel took place and it is America who has done more to persecute the Latter Day Saints than any other nation to date.
Daniel tells us that “the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came”. The fact is that the saints are still subject to the same powers that drove them out of the eastern United States and then followed them out west to persecute them further. This according to Daniel was to continue “Until the Ancient of days came”.
However, the said persecution coupled with efforts to “change the times and the law” is to reach an acute point just before “the ancient of days” makes his appearance, Daniel tells us:
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
So who or what is it that brings about the final 42 months of dominance, “a time and times and the dividing of time” just before “the ancient of days” comes? Let us take a brief look at how he or it is characterized in Daniel’s prophecy.
It had the “eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things” and it was “because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake” that “the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame”. This person or entity also speaks “great words” and “think(s) to change times and laws”.
In America this could means the corrupting of constitutional principles, in favor of some other form of governance. Do we know of anyone who has promoted such an agenda?
Again, it was “because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake” that “the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame”. Subvert the constitution, attempt to replace it with some other form and all manner of lawlessness, corruption and perversions prevail. Self-serving politicians and their constituents have all the more opportunity to raid the public purse, all the while depriving and persecuting people of faith. Do you remember the words of Ezra Taft Benson from a previous blog, said he:
“But on the other hand, if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they “. . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant”. (1 Nephi 14:6; 3 Nephi 21:11, 14, 21; D&C 84:114-115, 117) (Oct. general conference, 1961)
In the Book of Mormon we have a second witness of what Elder Benson says, from 2 Nephi 10 we read:
11 And this land shall be a land of liberty unto the Gentiles, and there shall be no kings upon the land, who shall raise up unto the Gentiles…
14 For he that raiseth up a king against me shall perish, for I, the Lord, the king of heaven, will be their king, and I will be a light unto them forever, that hear my words.
So when a leader of the Gentiles attempts to subvert “liberty” (speak(ing) great words…and think to change times and laws) and establish an alternate form of government it shall not be permitted. For they “shall perish” and “the Lord, the king of heaven, will be their king”. A reference to the destruction of the Gentiles and the Lord’s Second Advent for sure!
Moving forward, John spoke of the 42 months as well, from Rev. 13 we read:
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
What we learn from John is that this person or entity shall “continue forty and two months”. So he must have had power or been in a position of authority previous to the commencement of the 42 months. And what does this person or entity do? He continues to “make war with the saints” as well as be involved with a global cabal which “seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands” for John tells us that “power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations”.
So now it’s time to consider how well the prophetic meshes with the present. We do so by asking…
1- Can we think of someone who is known to “speak great words”, discriminates against people of faith and has attempted to nullify the principles of the constitution?
2- Does this same individual promote global governance at the expense of national sovereignty?
3- Do his efforts and the efforts of “the deep state” to overthrow a legitimately elected government rise to the level of “conspire(ing) to overthrow liberty and the Constitution”?
4- Are we in the 42 months?
