The man clothed in linen….

Frank M. Keele

This is just going to be a mini post…. A bit of follow-up on the previous post….

One thing that I find striking about Daniel 12:7 is the authority and certainty of the language used, we read:

7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Here “the man clothed in linen… held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever”…. Very definite, certain, definitive language and imagery used here and whatever follows is therefore certifiably accurate and true! He declares… “that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished”

Again, I just love the imagery, the clarity and the authority of this statement! When the powers that be “shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people” for “a time, times, and an half” then “all these things shall be finished”…

Here is something those of us who are looking forward to Christ’s coming can count on… Till next time:

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5)
