Joseph Smith said:

“And now I am prepared to say by the authority of Jesus Christ that not many years shall pass away before the United States shall present such a scene of bloodshed as has not a parallel in the history of our nation; pestilence, hail, famine, and earthquake will sweep the wicked of this generation from off the face of the land. To open and prepare the way for the return of the lost tribes of Israel from the north country.” (Joseph Smith DHC vol. 1 p. 315 & 316 January 4, 1833)

“When wars come, we shall have to flee to Zion. The cry is to make haste. The last Revelation says, “Ye shall not have time to have gone over the earth, until these things come.” It will come as did the cholera, war, fires, and earthquakes; one pestilence after another, etc., until the Ancient of Days come, then judgment will be given to the Saints.” (Joseph Smith,1839-July-DHC 3:385-391)

I don’t post these quotes to scare anyone but to show that we are seeing the fulfillment of prophecy. In the first quote the prophet says “hail, famine, and earthquake”, hail and earthquake are signs that come from above and we note that this all leads to “the return of the lost tribes of Israel from the north country” which I think we all look forward to, right?

In the second quote Joseph says “When wars come, we shall have to flee to Zion” which is what we’re hoping to do in the midst of all the chaos, right? And then he mentions “the Ancient of Days” and that “judgment will be given to the Saints”, events that are to unfold at Adam Ondi Ahman…

So I hope you can all see the close connection between events that are unfolding and the Lord’s promises to His saints being fulfilled. As I’ve said in some of my more recent blogs, I believe that Russell M. Nelson is the one “like unto Moses” who shall lead us “to the goodly land”!
