“Jesus Christ (shall) preside over this Church in majesty and glory.”

By Frank M. Keele

Today we want to consider what real prophets are saying today and what real prophets of the past have had to say about our day. The hope is that by so doing we can get a snapshot of just where we are in the stream of last day’s events. In the above video President Nelson says:

“Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory.”

Now, ask yourself, does that sound like an event that we’ve known about for some time? Could it be what Elder Bruce R. McConkie was speaking about when he said:

“Before the Lord Jesus descends openly and publicly in the clouds of glory, attended by all the hosts of heaven; before the great and dreadful day of the Lord sends terror and destruction from one end of the earth to the other; before he… sets his feet on Olivet, or utters his voice from… a Jewish Jerusalem… He will come in private to his prophet and to the apostles then living. Those who have held keys and powers and authorities in all ages from Adam to the present will also be present. And further, all the faithful members of the Church then living and all the faithful saints of all the ages past will be present. It will be the greatest congregation of faithful saints ever assembled on planet earth. It will be a sacrament meeting. It will be a day of judgment for the faithful of all the ages. And it will take place in Davies County, Missouri, at a place called Adam-Ondi-Ahman.” (The Millennial Messiah: The Second Coming of the Son of Man, p.578)

So, when the Lord does come to this great gathering of saints at Adam Ondi Ahman, will He not “preside over this Church in majesty and glory” to borrow a phrase from President Nelson’s statement above? Do you see where I’m headed with this?

If you ask me, it’s pretty obvious what President Nelson was speaking about and so in the balance of this post, we assume that the connection made above is valid and real. In other words, assuming that President Nelson’s statement does indeed refer to Adam Ondi Ahman, what else must we be looking for in the way of prophetic events. To get our answer we go to do Daniel 7 and read:

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

In verse 26 we read, “But the judjment shall sit”, which aligns nicely with Elder McConkie’s statement above… “It will be a day of judgment for the faithful of all the ages”. And what happens when “the judgment shall sit”? Answer… “they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end”. And then what happens? The answer, verse 27 happens:

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

So in other words, when the events of Adam Ondi Ahman unfold “the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High” and it shall be “an everlasting kingdom” because it’s the Lord’s millennial kingdom and that which the righteous of all dispensations have been looking forward to.

And so what we have said thus far about Daniel’s statement is all well and good, however, we have yet to account for verse 25 above or that which we might call the prophecy of the 42 months. We must be able to account for the “time and times and the dividing of time” leading up to the time when “the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High”, right? It so happens that Daniel had more to say about the “time and times and the dividing of time” (42 months) in chapter 12, we read:

1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book…

5 ¶ Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

We learn from verse one that associated with the time when Michael (Adam) shall come, “there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time”. He also tells us that “at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Kinda makes ya want to be sure that you’re being good so that your name “shall be found written in the book”, doesn’t it? After all, “time is running out”, right?)

So as bad as this “time of trouble” shall be, Daniel sees it as deliverance for those who “shall be found written in the book”. And we already know from Daniel 7 just what that deliverance is going to look like, “the judgment shall sit, (AOA) and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High”.

Daniel also goes on to tell us about three messengers, he says “there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river” and the third messenger he calls “the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river”.

As the story goes, one of the first two messengers inquires of “the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river” asking “How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?” So in other words, he wants to know when those who “shall be found written in the book” will “be delivered”… or, how will we know and what is the sign, right?

And so “the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river” holds up “his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever” that “it shall be for a time, times, and an half” (42 months) and there’s our countdown right there! That is precisely when “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time” or the abomination of desolation on the Gentiles, which shall be “thermonuclear” in nature according to Ezra Taft Benson, shall unfold.

It should be very obvious to all that the events of the 42 months must unfold before we shall trek back to Missouri and there participate in the great assembly at Adam Ondi Ahman that Elder McConkie referenced above.

Either we are in the 42 months or we are not! And if we are not, it follows that we will have to continue to deal with the evil and insufferable wickedness of the great and abominable church for some time to come. But on the other hand, if we are in the waning weeks of the 42 months as I believe we are, there is light at the end of the tunnel and the light which we see, is the coming of the Bridegroom and the dawning of the millennial day!

And may I say that my personal attitude about this is, bring it on!

My research and studies have led me to believe for some time now, that 2020 would be a transitional year and I am all the more encouraged by the amazing innovations and statements coming from President Russell M. Nelson. I hope we are all paying very close attention to what he is saying!

Thanks for reading, if you need to know more about the 42 months may I suggest that you read “Obama and the 42 months” and “More about Obama and the 42 months”.
