And when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished…

Frank M. Keele

Reflecting upon the title of today’s blog we ask, what is “the power of the holy people” and how is it that this entity shall “scatter” it? When Daniel says “the power of the holy people”, is he referencing faith, hope, charity, love… is it priesthood? Can faith be scattered, can hope, what about the priesthood?

What do the saints possess which the evil one and those who do his bidding would want to take away, destroy or scatter? What right or privilege, what God-given gift, what blessing, if taken away, would most inhibit the progress of Christianity and God’s latter-day kingdom?

I’m going to say that it is closely connected this land of freedom, a land of liberty, a land of just laws, a land of free speech, and one where each person can exercise free will so long as they don’t infringe on the rights of others. New idea?… not exactly…

God’s hand in raising up wise men and establishing this land of liberty was an essential stepping stone that paved the way for the restoration of his latter-day kingdom. So any threat to this foundation, to the stability of government or the principles upon which it was founded, strikes at the very core of “the power of the holy people” if you will. And we would expect that if the wicked among the Gentiles were to succeed at upending that power, they would certainly evoke the wrath of God!

Was it not the power to curtail and to control man’s agency that was at the centerpiece of Satin’s pre-mortal proposal? The venue has changed but Lucifer’s madness, diabolical scheming and hatred for God’s children has not. The spirit of division, hate, and antagonism for good appears to be infecting greater numbers every day. Satan and his minions are working overtime in an effort to silence the voices of those who stand for the freedom of speech, who declare the divinity of Christ or stand against the murder of the unborn.

The brethren have repeatedly expressed concern over freedom of religious speech in recent general conference talks and for good reason! Freedom is under attack! We not only see continuing attempts to overthrow a duly elected president of the United States but a spirit of anger, intolerance, impedance, ignorance, lies, and threats against those who hold up the light of Christ, the light of freedom, the light of liberty or the light of justice!

It is from Daniel chapter 12 that we took our title, “and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished” but let us add a bit more context, now we read, “it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”

So the scheme to abolish freedom and liberty or to “scatter the power of the holy people” is somehow connected with “a time, times and an half”. We get more insight in Daniel chapter 7 where we read:

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

We learn from verse 25 that “he shall… wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws”. So to “wear out the saints of the most High” and to “change times and laws” is to alter the founding principles of society. In this instance it is to undermine freedom and the constitution so as to take away “the power of the holy people” if you will.

Not only that but “they”, “the saints of the most High… shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time” or 42 months. So “he” is “given” or is allowed (by God) 42 months in which to accomplish his dastardly deed.

And does “he” succeed? Well, we’ve already read the answer to that question in Daniels statement above…”when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.” So “he shall… accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people” but there is also another part of the equation… which is “all these things shall be finished” or brought to a grand conclusion! Let us now go to Daniel 12 and get the whole story… we read:

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book…

¶ Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

And one said to the man clothed in linen, which wasupon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

In verse one we learn that in the end times “there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time”. Now that may sound bad, however, it is “at that (very) time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” So when the wicked gentiles “accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people” there will be “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time”. (abomination of desolation) When this “time of trouble” unfoldes, “the fulness of the wrath of God shall be poured out upon all the children of men; for he will not suffer that the wicked shall destroy the righteous.” God’s justice will be poured out upon those who oppose liberty and freedom and seek the overthrow of the government!

Now, I’m going to interrupt our discussion of Daniel 12 in order to insert something that’s both intriguing and relevant. We quote from one of Joseph Smith’s unpublished revelations where we read:

“Verily, I say unto you, that the day of vexation and vengeance is nigh at the doors of this nation, when wicked, ungodly and daring men will rise up in wrath and might, and go forth in anger, like as the dust is driven by a terrible wind; and they will be the means of the destruction of the government and cause the death and misery of many souls; but the faithful among my people shall be preserved in holy places during all these tribulations.” (Letter from W.W. Phelps to Brigham Young, dated August 12, 1861, Joseph Smith Collection, Church Historians Office.)

The thing that’s so relevant is that the Lord actually tells us that “when wicked, ungodly and daring men will rise up in wrath and might, and go forth in anger… they will be the means of the destruction of the government”. That’s huge!!! Because we know how the struggle we are currently involved in is going to end! And then what?

The Lord also says that they will “cause the death and misery of many souls” but assures us that “the faithful among my people shall be preserved in holy places during all these tribulations.” The term “holy places” is closely associated with the Lord’s coming as we know. (see D&C 87:5-8, 101:22-23, 45:31-33) So we shall “be preserved… during all these tribulations” if we are among “the faithful” and we shall undoubtedly witness his return soon thereafter!

And how soon thereafter shall his return be? The answer the Lord gave to his disciples was “immediately after the tribulation of those days” (JS Matthew 33)

Returning to Daniel 12, we pick up the discussion… In verse 5 we read “I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.” So Daniel sees two messengers…“And one said to the man clothed in linen, (a third messenger, one with great authority, perhaps even mighty Michael himself) which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

So in other words, how long will it be until the hammer comes down and what will be the sign? Daniel says “I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half”. And so at that time or at the end of the 42 months what happens? Answer…“he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people” and “all these things shall be finished.”

Finished… finished… finished! The wicked Gentiles will have had their day and the final sequence which was discussed in the previous blog shall unfold!

And just how close are we, well… very, very, very close! We saw the wicked suddenly erupt with unprecedented anger, fear, hatred, vitriol and never ending lies when their scheme to finally put liberty to rest was foiled in the fall of 2016. Will they suddenly give up the quest and return to sanity? I think not… the Lord has already shown us how this will end. I’m referring to the unpublished revelation quoted above. It is also my conviction that we’ve been in the 42 months since the election of Donald Trump… and things will continue to escalate! Ezra Taft Benson predicted this long ago when he said:

“if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they “. . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant”. (1 Nephi 14:6; 3 Nephi 21:11, 14, 21; D&C 84:114-115, 117) (Oct. general conference, 1961)

So if that be the case, if the madness we are witnessing each day is in very fact the fulfilling of the prophecies we have quoted above, then what? Well, it means that we have been in the 42 months for some time now and we may expect big changes to come in the spring of 2020… For the saints, a part of the changes will come in the form of a second Passover and migration, in order that we may accomplish our appointed destiny when we shall rendezvous with the Bridegroom!

  1. I love to read your insights on each and every post. I would like to hear more about this.

What events etc made you determine that with Donald Trump‘s election is when the 42 months began?

  2. It was clear back in 2008 when I first figured out that Obama would at some point go on to fulfill Daniel and John’s prophecy of the 42 months. So I’ve been watching this situation for years, waiting to see how he would “continue forty and two months”(Rev. 13:5) at the end of his presidency and just what that would look like.

Well, it’s not hard to see now that he is continuing, though his own efforts, the corrupt media, and the deep state to “change the times and the law” as Daniel said. It’s really just a thinly masked effort to abolish freedom and the American way of life.

There came a point when I realized that what he was doing was also fulfilling Ezra Taft Benson’s prophecy wherein he said:

“if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they “. . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant”. (cut off = abomination of desolation)

If we only had ET Benson’s prophecy it would be easy enough to see that “the gentiles on this land… shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant” in the very near future. However, the prophecy of the 42 months is pretty concise and to the point, provided that we are able to identify the starting point.

I believe that the starting point was when the anti-freedom forces pulled out all the stops in their efforts to reverse the choice of the people. You’ve got to admit things are pretty insane out there and I expect that we shall see things escalate right up to the end of the 42 months.
