“All these things shall be finished”

Frank M. Keele

John, in Rev. 13 speaks of the saints being “overcome” when “the beast” is given power to “continue forty and two months”. Daniel, speaking of this same situation says, “And he… shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws”.

And then in Daniel 12 we read, ”it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”

So, are we at the end of the 42 months? In our current situation with missionary work being dramatically curtailed and temple work brought to a screeching halt, are we seeing just what being “overcome” and the changing of the “times and laws” is all about? Is this what it means to “scatter the power of the holy people”?

Well, if this be the case, what might we expect to see next? Well, Daniel says it this way in chapter 12:

“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”

So what’s coming… the answer is… “thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” And isn’t deliverance form our current situation what we’re going to be fasting for tomorrow?
