But as it was in the days of Noah…

Frank M. Keele

I think there are quite a few readers out there who may be on the fence about our being in the 42 months because the church as a whole does not appear to be suffering great persecution at the moment. Got to say that that perspective is perfectly understandable because compared to the early days of the church we are doing marvelously well to this point. That could change rather quickly in today’s world…

One of the motivations for my previous post was to get us to broaden our view, because although it doesn’t get much press, Christians are being persecuted around the world… They believe in Christ, they just don’t know where to find the whole truth as yet…

When considering what to look for in the way of the conditions that will exist at the coming of our Lord, we need to take into account a cross section of scriptures (and a cross section of world events) on the topic and not give too much weight to just one passage… (or one group of people) Read what John had to say and Daniel and Nephi and others and we especially we want to consider what the Lord had to say! Like this one:

41 But as it was in the days of Noah, so it shall be also at the coming of the Son of Man;
42 For it shall be with them, as it was in the days which were before the flood; for until the day that Noah entered into the ark they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage; (JS Matthew)

So in spite of all that will be going on, people will apparently continue to be involved in the normal, everyday pursuits of life. It might be that parts of the world will be involved in horrendous events (like we see now) and for others the escalated turmoil and political debate just becomes the new normal, like we see now… Take the globe as a whole and it’s not hard to see that we are pretty close to “the days of Noah”.

Whatever your views, please don’t procrastinate your preparations… When the beast burns the whore it will be too late to go out and get potassium iodide tablets and need I say it…. We won’t be planting gardens either…

Hope you have found this blog to be enlightening and edifying, thanks for reading and God bless…
